BA in Music Curriculum

About the major: The Bachelor of Arts program is ideal for students who desire a more comprenshive and diverse academic portfolio. Music students who audition for the program typically continue on to graduate studies in musicology or professional programs such as music therapy. Students who plan to include a pre-professional program (i.e. Pre-Med, Pre-Nursing, etc), double major, dual degree or minor outside of music are encouraged to consider the BA in Music as a viable major to complement their students in other disciplines.
Career opportunities: Students who pursue the Bachelor of Arts in Music may be preparing for careers as a music researcher, musicologist, music therapy, music critic, church music and private studio instructor. Additional study at the graduate level is usually required to teach on the collegiate level.
Requirements:

Candidates for this degree must complete a minimum of 120 credits including satisfaction of the University General Education requirements, College degree requirements, and Bachelor of Arts curriculum requirements listed below.

ONLY SIXTY CREDITS IN MUSIC ARE APPLICABLE TO THIS DEGREE.

General Education Requirements: All students in the B.A. program must elect MUH 1345 to satisfy the Global Learning Inquiry requirement. (35 credits)
