Admissions
There are two steps to becoming a Music major at Wayne State.
1. Apply to the University through Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Admissions.
Prospective students are encouraged to complete their WSU application (all application materials submitted) at least one month prior to Department of Music audition/interview date to allow for processing. Audition Request Forms may be submitted before a decision has been made on your University Application however their may be a delay in approval while application materials are being processed by WSU Admissions.
2. Present a successful audition on a principal instrument or voice (or, for some programs, an interview). For audition/interview dates and registration:

Transfer Students
To transfer into the Department of Music, follow Steps 1 and 2 as outlined above. During your first semester at Wayne State, your transfer credit will be evaluated. It is important to meet with the Department of Music undergraduate advisor to determine transfer credit before you register for classes.
International students
Most international students are required to pass the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). For more information about requirements for international students, visit The Office of International Students and Scholars or call (313) 577-3422
