Our Wayne State University alumni are our extended family. Their journey from untutored youth to professional musician, from student to colleague, from an access ID to friend, it is a voyage we here at Wayne State University are honored to have been part of.

As a proud alum of this department myself, I feel a sense of fulfillment and an enormous pride when I greet a former student, now a current music alum. The spirit of connectivity is magical, providing that sense of community and support we all need to be successful in our careers and life.

From conductors, composers, teachers, business entrepreneurs, our alumni may be found everywhere you find the truly exceptional and talented. Whether in the classroom, on the concert stage, in the studio, or boardroom, these talented individuals represent every field of artistic endeavor at the highest levels of professional achievement. Their labors are, or have been, the benchmark of their chosen specialty, with standards that honor our department and their university education.
