Alumni Spotlight: Jessica Essix
Jessica Essix was born and raised in Southfield, Michigan. All of her life she has been heavily involved with music participating in activities such as symphonic band, marching band, and choir. She attended Southfield-Lathrup High School where she was in choir and performed in various choral competitions such as MSVMA Solo & Ensemble, and performed with various ensembles including MSVMA State Honors Choir and MSVMA All-State Honors Choir with the most talented students in Michigan.
Jessica attended Wayne State University studying Music Business. While a student at Wayne State she continued to perform in solo recitals and choral ensembles with the Wayne State's Concert Chorale. She would perform throughout the Detroit metro area in the jazz festival and local churches. Jessica received her Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Music Business in Spring 2016. Jessica has interned for various companies such as Michigan Opera Theatre in the production department; RED Music, a division of Sony Music as a Student Lifestyle Rep; Memory Lane Music Group (NYC) working with the copyright division; and now Kobalt Music (NYC) in the Kobalt Music Recordings division working with mechanical licensing and royalties.

Currently, Jessica is pursuing her MBA in Music Management at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. She will be graduating in May 2018.
