Biography

Pianist Tomoko Mack is the recipient of multiple awards and is internationally recognized as performer,
recording artist, teacher and adjudicator at major piano competitions in the U.S.A. and Japan. Born in
Tokyo, Japan, Tomoko began her piano studies at age 5, and performed in public at age 7. She fell in love
with the sound of the piano at a young age and it hasn't changed!
Tomoko came to the United States at age 10, and continued her studies, performing and dazzling
audiences on three continents. She is a co-founder and an artistic director for Poland International
Music Festival which is held each July in Naleczow, Poland.
Tomoko was selected as top piano teacher of 2017 by Steinway & Sons and has served since 2010 as the
artistic director for the Steinway Society of Michigan. In addition to her strong solo career, Tomoko also
partners with her sister Yuki in the award-winning piano duo "The Mack Sisters" where they perform
four-hands piano music and orchestral works.
After coming to the United States, she received a Bachelor’s degree from Oakland university and a
Master’s degree from the University of Michigan. She performed in master classes of Andre Watts,
Meneham Pressler, Nelita True, Aubrey Tzerko, Seymour Bernstein and studied with Flavio Varani and
Louis Nagel.
