Undergraduate auditions

Two steps to becoming a Music major at Wayne State.
1. Apply and be accepted to the University through Undergraduate Admissions.  
Prospective students should complete WSU application (all application materials submitted) at least one month prior to Department of Music audition date. 

2. Present a successful audition on a principal instrument or voice. Audition requirements for the various programs are listed below.

Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Youth Ensembles Members:
For those auditioning for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Youth Ensembles Civic Scholarship, click here.  
The deadline to register for an audition is two weeks before the audition date you choose. You will receive your audition time via e-mail one week prior to your audition date.

Theory Placement Exam

There will be a 15-minute Theory Placement Exam required of students auditioning for all undergraduate Music concentrations: Theory Practice Exam and Theory Practice Exam key
