Dr. Anderson teaches composition and theory courses, and composes for a variety of acoustic and electroacoustic mediums. He has received honors, awards, and invitations from the Society of Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), the NYC Electronic Music Festival, the Symposium for Arts & Technology, the International Society for Music Education, the Pierre Schaefer International Competition of Computer Music, the Cuban Institute of Music & National Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music, the Society of Composers, Inc (SCI), the Florida Electronic Music Festival (FEMF), Electronic Music Midwest, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Friends & Enemies of New Music, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, SCI/ASCAP, and Voices of Change.
He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition from the University of North Texas (2010) where he studied with Joseph "Butch" Rovan, Cindy McTee, Joseph Klein, and Jon Christopher Nelson; the Master of Music degree in Composition from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2000), where he studied with Eddie Bass and Craig Walsh; and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Luther College (1998), where he studied with John Howell Morrison and piano with John F. Strauss.
