Biography
Thomas Court is a recording engineer / sound designer by trade. After completing an honorable moment in the military, Mr. Court began recording and composing music professionally in 1971.

Mr. Court co-founded one of the first non-academic commercial experimental Electronic Music Laboratories in 1974 (Mouth Music). This introduced Modular Music Synthesis to music producers, witch aided in establishing Mr. Court as a writer and performer.

Mr. Court has written music for General Motors Corporation industrial training videos, PBS documentaries, and others. His works have been published by MCA Records, Geffen Records, Fiddlers Music, Datarecords, MP3.com, Matthews Music and several other video publications.

From 1978-1981 Mr. Court toured the United States as a "front of house" Sound Mixer for Detroit’s "Rockets" and "Figures on a Beach". He also served as a live-production synthesizer with "The Eurge" until settling down as Chief Engineer of Audio Post for video at General Motors Corporation.

This niche at General Motors lasted 18 years with many productions of audio and video, including the weekly radio broadcast of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

In 1998, one year prior to GM’s closing of their video operations, Mr. Court was invited to teach, manage and develop Wayne State University’s music recording and technology programs,
most notably the Electronic Music Ensemble (now accredited) and the new "Studio One" recording studio. In 2002 he was advanced to Co-Director of Music Technology.

The founder of "DATAtunes Publishing & Research" (1976) (http://www.datatunes.com), Mr. Court has been active in sound design/music production since 1974 and in sound design education since 1998. He has received multiple I.T.V.A. golden, bronze and silver Reel awards and is a current member of I.A.T.S.E. (International Alliance of Technical Stage Employees) Local 812.

Educated in jazz studies and piano at Macomb Community College and Electronic Music at University of Michigan, Mr. Court has kept the cutting edge of audio technology as his main discipline.
