Alumni Spotlight: Yuriy Leonovich


Yuri Leonovich graduated from the Department of Music in 2006 with a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance. While at WSU, Leonovich studied with former DSO Assistant Principal and Principal Cellists Marcy Chanteaux and Robert De Maine. Following his work at WSU, Leonovich pursued his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Stephen Geber. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Cello at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Additionally, he is in the Greenville Symphony Orchestra cello section and serves as a frequent sub with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in Charleston, SC.
