Master of Arts

The Master of Arts degree is designed for students who wish to pursue an academic career in music through a broad liberal arts curriculum. MA students take a wide range of courses taught by highly qualified faculty with extensive academic and professional experience in their areas of expertise. Alumni have gone on to graduate doctoral programs, opened their own studios, found positions in the nonprofit sector, and a variety of other careers.

The advisor for this program is Professor Duchan.

The MA degree is extremely flexible, so students can select courses to fit their interests, including music history, music theory, and jazz. Elective credits may also be used for lessons.
