Ensemble Audition Information 2017-2018
Wayne State University Department of Music ensembles are open to all music majors and non-majors. Audition requirements and audition time sign-up procedures are listed for each ensemble. For more information, please contact the listed ensemble director.
Tuesday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 30 in Studio 2362 in Old Main
Tuesday, August 8, 2017, Room 2402 in Old Main at 12:30pm
All new and returning students registered for or interested in playing in a jazz ensemble or combo must attend this group audition meeting. There will be a combo sign up meeting following the jazz ensemble auditions.

Thursday, August 24, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday August 25, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Auditions will be held in studio 2354
Choral Union, Men's Glee Club, and Women's Chorale do not require a formal audition but potential singers should still sign-up for an appointment.
Concert Chorale requires a formal audition. Potential singers should bring one piece to sing, of any style in the classical music genre, and be prepared to sightread.

There are no audition requirements for Warrior Band. Students must already know how to play their musical instrument and have at least one year of marching experience.

Campus Band, which is offered during the Winter semester, does not require an audition and is open to any and all students, faculty, and staff who desire to make music in a welcoming, community environment.
