Wayne State University

Visit the department

WSU's Department of Music is pleased to offer a department visit experience. Danny DeRose, Academic Services Officer, will take you on a facilities tour. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to talk with faculty and current students and to observe class or a rehearsal in progress. Visits are designed for all students interested in pursuing studies in any of our 7 undergraduate and 5 graduate concentrations.

The visit involves walking and will last around 45 minutes . For those of you interested in taking the University tour, you will have plenty of time to walk to the Welcome Center and attend the 2 p.m. tour.

Upcoming visit dates in 2016 and 2017:
Upcoming group visits will take place on November 16, January 18, February, 15, and April 19. If you are unable to make these dates, we are happy to give you a private tour of our facilites. All tours take place at 1:00 p.m. and will be completed in time to attend the daily 2:00 p.m. campus tour. To register for a Department of Music visit, email Danny DeRose at

Prospective students are welcome to invite a guest or parent to the tour. If you cannot attend one of our group tour dates, feel free to contact Danny DeRose to set up an individual visit.

The Department of Music is located in 1321 Old Main, 4841 Cass Avenue (the clock tower building). Use the campus map and allow plenty of time to park. The nearest parking is in Structure 6 and Lot 60.
